## Praying for the Faithful Departed

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young and welcome to the 188th episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries' Prayer and Lunch. Today is All Souls Day, and we will be praying for all the souls who are trying to find their path to the light of God.

## Act of Oblation for the Suffering Souls

Today's prayer is the Act of Oblation for the suffering souls:

O Jesus, meek and sweet divine lamb, immolated forever on our altar for the salvation of humankind, I want to be united to you, to suffer with you, to offer myself as a sacrifice with you. For this purpose, I offer you all the pain, hardship, humiliation, and the crosses which your providence permits me to encounter on my path. To you I present all the intentions for which you are offered as a sacrifice. May my humble offerings obtain your blessing for the church, the priesthood, poor sinners, and for all society. And you, dear Jesus, design to accept it from the hands of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in union with her Immaculate Heart. Amen.

## Concluding Prayers

We conclude our time today with the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be, asking for the mercy of God upon all sinners, now and at the hour of death.

*We offer our own daily crosses and hardships in union with Christ to help the souls in purgatory reach the light of God.*
