> In this episode, Bill Young reflects on the life of St. Francis of Assisi and leads a prayer for peace.

## The Legacy of St. Francis

Today is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis was well known for his profound love of animals and nature. As we reflect on his life, let us pray not only for the souls who need his intercession but also against the abuse of animals, and for a deeper love of nature through God.

## The Prayer of Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, let me sow pardon. Where there is doubt, let me sow faith. Where there is despair, let me give hope. Where there is darkness, let me give light. Where there is sadness, let me give joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be comforted as to comfort; not so much to be understood as to understand; not so much to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, and it is in forgiving that we are forgiven.

*We are called to be instruments of peace by prioritizing the needs and love of others over our own.*
