# Chaplet to Our Guardian Angel
*2008-09-28*

> Bill Young leads the Chaplet to Our Guardian Angel, explaining its timing and reciting the prayers, including the Apostles' Creed and a special invocation to our guardian angels.

## Introduction and Timing

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to a new episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries, Prayer and Lunch. Today we begin the Chaplet to Our Guardian Angel. It may be prayed from September 29th (today) through October 1st, or at any time we wish to express love for our guardian angel or ask for their assistance in a particular grace.

## Opening Prayer

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

O God, come to my aid. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

## First Day of the Chaplet

My guardian angel, I thank you for always taking special care of my spiritual and temporal needs and for continuing to do so. I beseech you to thank the Divine Providence on my behalf for having pleased Him to entrust me to your guardian protection, a foretaste of the sublime peace of paradise. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## Prayer to Our Guardian Angel

O Guardian Angel, to whom God has lovingly committed me, be at my side day and night, to guide and protect me.

*Invoking our guardian angels reminds us of God's continual care and the promise of heavenly peace.*
