# My Only Desire
*2008-08-19*

> Bill Young shares a heartfelt prayer called “My Only Desire,” asking God for the grace to love Him eternally, especially as we near the end of our lives.

## Opening

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to the 141st episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries, Prayer and Lunch. I’m recording today ahead of the upcoming storm, and I have a short prayer to share with you.

## The Prayer: My Only Desire

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

My God, I love you. My only desire is to love you until I take my last breath. My Lord, I love you. The only grace I ask of you is to love you unto eternity. My God, if my tongue cannot always tell you I love you, let my heart repeat it with every breath I take. I love you, divine Savior, because you were crucified for me. I love you, God, because you keep me. As I approach the end of my life, grant me this grace: increase my love. Amen.

## Closing Blessing

May God bless you all.

*May we receive the grace to love God more deeply each day, until the very end.*
