## Opening and Personal Requests

Good afternoon, I’m Bill Young, and welcome to episode 128 of Prayer and Lunch. We’re continuing with the novena for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, day three. I’m back in the South Florida area, Cooper City. My mother‑in‑law has recovered from surgery, and I thank you for your prayers. Please also pray for my friend John, that he may experience God’s peace in his health situation.

## Novena Prayer – Invocation

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

My God, because Thou art infinite goodness, I love Thee above all things and repent with my whole heart of my offenses against Thee. Grant me the grace of holy perseverance. Have compassion on me, and at the same time on the holy souls suffering in Purgatory. Through Mary, Mother of God, obtain for them Thy powerful intercession.

## The Our Father and Hail Mary

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## Prayer for the Holy Souls

Lord Jesus, through the pains Thou didst suffer on the cross, have mercy on the souls in Purgatory. Through the cruel scourging, the crown of thorns, the bearing of the cross, the crucifixion, and the bitter agony on the cross, have mercy on them, O Lord. Through the immense pain of breathing Thy blessed soul into the world, have mercy on them, O Lord.

## Closing Supplication

Blessed souls, I have prayed for the Lord. I entreat Thee, who are dear to God and secure in His love, to pray for me, a miserable sinner, who is in danger of losing God forever. Amen.
