# Novena Prayer to Our Lady of Mount Carmel – Day 7
*2008-07-13*

> Bill Young leads the seventh day of the novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, recalling the feast of St. Henry and offering a heartfelt prayer for protection and intercession.

## Feast of St. Henry

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to episode 110 of Catholic Podcast Ministries, Prayer and Lunch. Today we continue our novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel on day 7, July 13. Before we begin, I want to note that today is the feast day of St. Henry, a king in Europe in the late 10th and early 11th centuries.

## A Prayer Sent by John

John sent me a beautiful prayer that Father Coropan often uses. It is a memoir to Our Holy Mother:

“Remember, O most gracious Virgin, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, and sought thy intercession, was left unheeded. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother. I come before thee, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word immaculate, incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.”

## Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Help of Christians

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Help of Christians, you assured us that wearing your scapular worthily will keep us safe from harm. Protect us in body and soul with your continual aid, and may all that we do be pleasing to your Son and to you.

## Our Prayers

We now pause for our petitions.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us. Amen.

*May the protection of Our Lady of Mount Carmel accompany us in every step of our daily lives.*
