# Fourth Day of the Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel
*2008-07-10*

> Bill Young leads the fourth day of the novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, offering a prayer of offering of Christ’s precious blood and reciting the novena prayer for grace, peace, and love.

## Opening Prayer of Offering

Eternal Father, we offer you the most precious blood which Jesus shed on the Cross and offers every day on the altar. For the Holy Church, for the Pope, for bishops, priests, missionaries, religious, and for all the faithful. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

## Intentions of the Offering

We also pray for the conversion of sinners, for Christian unity, that the Word may be obeyed out of love, for civil authorities, for peace and justice among all peoples, for the suffering and the sick, for our spiritual and temporal needs, and for the souls who have departed this life. May the blood of Jesus be praised now and forever. Amen.

## The Novena Prayer

When you gave us, Glorious Lady, the scapular as our habit, you called us not only to be servants but also to be your own children. We ask you to obtain for us from your Son the grace to live as your children in joy, peace, and love.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

## Closing Blessing

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us. And God bless us all. Amen.

*Through the precious blood of Christ and the intercession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we receive the grace to live as beloved children of God.*
