# Prayer to Our Lord Jesus Christ

> Bill Young shares recent blessings, reflects on sacrificial giving, and leads a heartfelt prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ.

## Greetings from Sanibel Island

Good afternoon. This is Bill Young, and welcome to episode 124 of Catholic Podcast Ministries, Prayer and Lentz. I’m recording today from a screened patio on Sanibel Island, overlooking the beautiful ocean. My family and I are enjoying a short vacation in a beachfront condo.

## A Recent Couples of Christ Conference

Last weekend I attended the 14th annual Couples of Christ conference in downtown Miami. I met many wonderful brothers and sisters, especially a group from Toronto, Canada. One participant shared a powerful testimony: two years ago his family gave up a planned trip to Disney World and donated the money to charity. Two years later they were able to travel to Miami for the conference and then continue on to Orlando. It reminded me that sacrificial giving often brings unexpected blessings, even when we do not expect anything in return.

## A Birthday Blessing

I also want to wish my wife Pat a happy birthday. Yesterday was her special day, and that’s one of the reasons we’re here on this vacation. Happy birthday, Pat!

## Prayer to Our Lord Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus Christ, who redeemed us with your precious blood, we adore you. An infinite price was paid to ransom the universe, a mysterious purification of our souls. Your divine blood is the pledge of our salvation before our merciful Father. May you always be blessed and praised, O Jesus, for the gift of your blood, the spirit of love you poured out to the last drop, that we may participate in your divine life.

May the blood you shed for our redemption purify us from sin and save us from the temptations of the devil. O Blood of the new and eternal covenant, our drink in the sacrifice of the Eucharist, unite us to God and to one another in love, peace, and mutual respect, especially for the poor. O Blood of life, source of grace, fill our hearts with the Holy Spirit.

Lord Jesus, we ask forgiveness for our ingratitude and the outrages we commit against your creation. Accept our lives in union with the offering of your blood, that our own lives may make up for the hardships still to be undertaken by Christ for the benefit of the Church and the redemption of the world.

Lord Jesus Christ, may all people on earth and in the glory of heaven bless you. With the hymn we praise you, for you have redeemed us, O Lord. By your precious blood you have made us a kingdom for our God. Amen.

## Closing Blessing

God bless you all, and have a good day.

*Sacrificial love, rooted in Christ’s blood, transforms our lives and the world.*
