# Faith in the Divine Mercy
*2008-06-17*

> Bill Young leads the Act of Faith in the Divine Mercy prayer and the fifth day of the novena to St. Maximilian Kolbe, followed by a series of Hail Marys and a doxology.

## Welcome and a Milestone Note

Hi, this is Bill Young, and welcome to the 99th episode of Catholic Podcast Ministries – Prayer and Lunch. As we approach episode 100, I’m revisiting a few early recordings: episode 3, “The Saint Among Us,” and episode 4, “The Rose.” Both explore saints, especially St. Teresa, and feature my husband and Sister Mary Teresa. You may notice a slight difference in audio quality from those early shows.

## Act of Faith in the Divine Mercy

Oh merciful Jesus, your goodness is infinite, and the riches of your graces are inexhaustible. I trust completely in your mercy, which exceeds all of your works. I give of myself to you without reserve, that I may live and fulfill my Christian purpose. I desire to adore and exalt your mercy, putting into practice works of mercy—both corporal and spiritual—to obtain, above all, the conversion of sinners and consolation for those who need it, the sick and the suffering. Protect me, O Jesus, as I belong only to you and to your glory. The fear that seizes me when I become aware of my weaknesses is conquered by your immense mercy. May all people come to know the infinite depths of your mercy, may they trust in it, and may they praise it forever. Amen.

## Novena Day 5 to St. Maximilian Kolbe

Lord Jesus Christ, you said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Through the intercession of St. Maximilian Kolbe, whose life exemplified such love, we ask you to grant our petitions. We pray for John and Roseanne and for the healing of the sick. Through the movement of the Immaculate Conception that Maximilian founded, he spread devotion to Our Lady worldwide, gave his life for a stranger, and loved his persecutors—an example of self‑sacrificial love inspired by true devotion to Mary. Grant us, O Jesus, that we too may give ourselves entirely, without reserve, to the love and service of our heavenly Queen, so that we may better love and serve our neighbor. In imitation of your humble servant Maximilian, we pray. Amen.

## Hail Mary and Doxology

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

*May the infinite mercy of Christ transform our hearts and draw us ever closer to the example of St. Maximilian Kolbe.*
