# Daily Prayer for the Holy Wounds and Novena to St. Maximilian Kolbe
*2008-05-27*

> Bill Young leads the daily prayer honoring the Holy Wounds of Christ, followed by the ninth day of the novena to St. Maximilian Kolbe, including petitions for friends and a concluding Marian prayer.

## Prayer for the Holy Wounds

We begin with a series of prayers honoring each of the five Holy Wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ. For each wound we pray the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory Be.

For the wound in His right hand:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

The same pattern is repeated for the wound in His left hand, His right foot, His left foot, and the side wound.

For the wound in His left hand:
[prayer as above]

For the wound in His right foot:
[prayer as above]

For the wound in His left foot:
[prayer as above]

For the wound on His side:
[prayer as above]

We also offer a prayer for the Holy Father, the Pope, and for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, using the same structure of Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be.

## Novena to St. Maximilian Kolbe – Day 9

Lord Jesus Christ, You taught that there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Through the intercession of St. Maximilian Kolbe, whose life exemplified this self‑sacrificial love, we humbly ask that You grant our petitions.

We pray for John and Roseanne, that they may receive healing in body and strength in spirit. May the Immaculate Movement, which St. Maximilian founded, continue to spread devotion to Our Lady throughout the world. May we, following his example, give ourselves completely to the love and service of the Heavenly Queen, that we might better love and serve our neighbors.

Through the humble servant Maximilian, we ask this, amen.

## Concluding Marian Prayer

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. Amen.

May God bless you all.

*May the contemplation of Christ’s wounds and the witness of St. Maximilian Kolbe inspire us to love self‑lessly and pray earnestly for one another.*
