## A hymn to the Holy Spirit

Come, O Creator, Spirit of bliss, and in our souls take up rest. Come with Thy grace and heavenly aid to fill the hearts which Thou hast made. To Thee we cry, O highest gift of God Most High, fountain of life, fire of love, and sweet anointing from above. In Thy sevenfold gifts we are known, the finger of God, the hand of the Father. The promise of the Father, who endows the tongue with power, kindles our senses from above and makes our hearts ever flow with love. With patience, firm virtue, and the strength to overcome the weakness of our flesh, drive far from us the foe we dread, and grant us Thy true peace. May we, with Thee as guide, never turn from the path of life. May Thy grace be bestowed upon us, as the Father and the Son have shown. Through endless ages we confess the eternal Spirit’s bliss. Glory be to the Father and the Son, who rose from death. O Holy Ghost, forever, Amen.

## A Lenten prayer

Dear Lord, as I make my Lenten journey with You, send me Your Spirit. Help me to give of myself, turn away from sin, and fast and pray so that I may know You better. Let me be renewed through this journey and share Your grace with the world. Amen.
